Our favourite October décor trends

October is the true beginning of autumn, leaves will start browning and falling, beanies and wellies will be pulled from storage – and FINALLY, our favourite rich, autumnal browns, oranges and yellows are back on trend!

With days getting shorter and nights getting darker, all you want to do when you walk through the front door, is cosy up and relax. We’ve put together a list of October décor ideas to satisfy that cosy autumn vibe you might be looking for.

1. Pumpkins – everywhere

I walked into my best friends house a week before I had the idea for this blog (In early September) and she had chic gold, bronze, orange and white pumpkins in her lounge. There are some really really classy looking pumpkins inspired homeware accessories that really make sense within your autumn décor!

2. Mix Autumnal tones with Neutrals

Oranges, Greens, Coppers and Browns can be mixed with more earthly tones to create a cosy and balanced colour palate in lounges and dining rooms. Not only walls, curtains, and other soft furnishings, but why not crack out the copper kitchen wear to add a bit of the autumn vibe to your cooking!

3. Vintage accessories

By using older accessories and trinkets around the house it makes the home feel cosier and more comfortably lived in. Now go forth and borrow some trinkets from your nana, or just check out your local antique store.

4. Get Hygge

Blankets, pillows, (faux) fur, soft furnishings are key to make your home look nice and be functionally cosy. I really believe there’s no such thing as too many soft furnishings. Choose a complimenting colour scheme to flow through your cushions, rugs, and blankets.
