Do you live on a street fit for a King?

As the UK prepares to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles this Saturday, did you know that in South Ribble we have a number of streets fit for a King?  

To celebrate the Kings coronation, we wanted to tell you a little bit of detail about King Street in Lostock Hall and Kingsway in Penwortham.

Kingsway in Penwortham is the largest of the two streets with 73 properties and an average value just slightly in excess of £355,000 (we think that is a cautious estimate) and means the total street is worth a whopping £26,000,000. There is almost an even split of semi detached and detached properties on Kingsway and it is a very desirable road locally partly due to the location just a short walk to the increasingly popular hub of Penwortham High Street. 

The most recent recorded sale on Kingsway was number 44, a three bedroom semi detached home that sold for £330,000 in March 2022, the record price for the road was £565,000 when number 4 was sold in February last year, but that was likely beaten when number 7 was sold recently, however this can’t be confirmed yet.

King Street in Lostock Hall has 21 properties with a current average value of just over £114,000, the properties are mostly terraced homes, but it looks like one has been converted into two flats. There have only been two sales on King Street in the last three years, number 10 that sold for £100,000 in October 2021 and number 16 sold for £95,000 in May 2020.

Located just off Watkin Lane, if you lived on King Street you could walk to the train station in five minutes and the centre of Lostock Hall just beyond.
With history dating back to 1212 Lostock Hall now offers a strong community spirit and excellent transport links if you are looking to access any of the M6, M61 or M65 motorways or of course the railway station that we mentioned earlier.
